I recently discovered the versatility of using Google My Maps as an interactive exploration activities for nurturing students abilities to follow directions. Google My Map could be a fun way for the students to explore different content areas. It provides multiple ways for differentiating activities.
This video demonstrates a few activities which could be used as a pre-assessment of content area along with critical thinking skills. One thing I like about both of these activities is student data is automatically recorded on one map or in one spreadsheet.

Cool idea! Is there any way to have the students put their guesses in without having to give them access to my account/editing ability? When I go to the share/preview look it doesn’t allow anyone to put pins in…the only way I can find the option to add pins is to have the students login under my account, which will get them editing opportunities.
Thanks for your help!

Yes! There is a share setting which works the same as Google Drive Share Settings. If you need further assistance please let me know.
