Use Google Docs to Inspire Writing Stories

Thanks to the inspirations of a recent family holiday at the shore this creative writing project was born. It is a writing activity which uses summer vacation photographs to jumpstart the writing process. A Google Doc is used to provide students with photos and website link hints to facts for developing their stories. This approach helps to differentiate the activity for all different learners. One of the photos is a tad more challenging because it doesn’t provide any background information. This presents an opportunity for the student who is ready for a more challenging task to jump ahead and explore.

We always hear about how “No student should be left behind.” It is my belief that No student should be held back and opportunities can be provided to support those who need it to forge ahead. Technology is a tool which can help the educator to easily create an environment to support all learners with writing creatively.
