2 Math Manipulative Created w/Google Slides

Earlier this week I created a number line  support for a colleague.  The objective of the visual & interactive manipulative was to support learning about negative integers. I used the same support in a twitter chat. This was interesting because it lead to another educator sharing the 3D Printing Number line they created to support students. This design inspired me  to create another Google Slide manipulative in the style of Mr. Navas’ 3D Number line. Thank you Mr. Navas for the inspiration!

REASONS to USE GOOGLE SLIDES MATH MANIPULATIVES

  1. Provides a visual interactive support which can be used with an IWB
    • When teaching whole class, small groups, or individuals
  2. Can be used as an independent support for doing homework
  3. Supports the student independence in the classroom
    • Use support during individual classroom work time
    • Use during small group centers
  4. Maintains accountability & supports accessing individual students & group activities
    • This is done by using the Revision History Tool
